Paramount+ orders second season of Canada Shore from Insight Productions

The first season of Canada Shore ended last month

Paramount+ has renewed Canada Shore, its adaptation of the MTV reality format, for a second season.

Produced by Blue Ant-owned Insight Productions, the new season is set to go into production in Kelowna, British Columbia this summer.

The renewal comes after the final episode of the 10-part first season premiered on March 19. In addition to streaming in Canada, the show also ran on Paramount+ in the US, UK, Ireland and Australia.

Like the original version, Canada Shore follows the lives and drama of a group of singles who live together for the summer. The Shore format, which began with Jersey Shore in 2009, has now been produced in 17 different markets, including recent spin-offs in Australia and France.

“Renewing Canada Shore was an easy choice,” said Katrina Kowalski, senior VP of content for Paramount in Canada.

“The series has quickly become a fan favourite, connecting with audiences through its unmistakable, outrageous cast who may not depict stereotypical polite Canadian-ness, but have hearts much bigger than the chaos they bring.”
