Paramount Global’s AVoD and FAST platform Pluto TV will launch in Canada on December 1 with more than 100 channels and 20,000 hours of content.

The Canadian version of the service, which is being launched through a previously announced partnership between Paramount and Canada’s Corus Entertainment, will span drama, comedy, kids, lifestyle, news and movies.

Scripted titles will include NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Los Angeles, Judge Judy and Hawaii Five-0. Unscripted series produced under the Corus Studios banner, such as Love It or List It, Chopped Canada and Border Security, will also be available on the free service.

The Canadian version of Pluto TV will feature curated movie channels such as Pluto TV Comedy, Pluto TV Drama, Pluto TV Action, The Asylum, Christmas 365 and Thriller 365. There will also be channels dedicated to individual shows, including the original version of Hawaii Five-0 and The Love Boat, with more titles set to be announced at a later date.

“Our initial channel lineup further illustrates how we are working to combine Corus’ incredible local content offering with Pluto TV’s global content, to meet the tastes of the Canadian audience,” said Olivier Jollet, executive VP and international GM for Pluto TV at Paramount Global.

“I’m confident that Pluto TV will quickly become a new destination both for fans of curated content as well as for clients and partners interested in investing in a new and unique streaming service upon its launch.”

Pluto TV is currently available in more than 30 countries and has an audience of nearly 70 million monthly active users, according to Paramount.
