The pan-European streaming service, a joint venture between Comcast and Paramount+ owner Paramount Global, has been made available in homes across Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

It is set to launch in the Netherlands and Portugal on October 25 and will continue its roll-out across Spain, Andorra and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) over the coming months and into the first quarter of 2023.

The service features the exclusive television premieres of first-run theatrical films from Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures, including three of this year’s top films: Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World: Dominion and Minions: The Rise of Gru.

In addition, SkyShowtime features new premium scripted series, kids and family content and a selection of iconic library titles and box sets from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios and Peacock in one place. It will also feature local original programming, documentaries and specials from its markets.

Among its programming is Showtime drama American Gigolo, season 21 of Law & Order from Peacock, as well as several Sky originals including The Rising, The Fear Index and The Midwich Cuckoos.

Over the coming months, additional series premieres will include season five of Yellowstone, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Vampire Academy and season two of Showtime series Yellowjackets and Let The Right One In.

In the Nordics, as part of the partnership with Paramount, SkyShowtime replaces Paramount+, allowing existing and future customers to watch current Paramount+ shows such as Halo, Yellowstone, The Offer and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

SkyShowtime is aiming to be available in 22 European markets: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

SkyShowtime’s monthly price will be €6.99 (US$7) in Finland, SEK79 (US$7.30) in Sweden, NOK79 (US$7.70) in Norway and DKK69 (US$9.29) in Denmark.

SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan said: “We are so excited that customers in the Nordics will have exclusive access to the latest series and movie premieres from our iconic and world-renowned studios. We are also excited to announce that next month, audiences in the Netherlands and Portugal will be able to experience SkyShowtime as we continue our expansion across Europe.”
