Pantaya picks VIS comedy Ana

Lionsgate-backed streamer Pantaya has acquired comedy series Ana from Viacom International Studios (VIS) and will offer it exclusively in Puerto Rico and the US next year.

The series revolves around the daughter of a Mexican beauty queen as she struggles to make it in Hollywood. The series was created, written and produced by Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera (Narcos), who also stars.

Spanish-language service Pantaya’s acquisition of the series is part of VIS’s plans to distribute content throughout the Americas, and follows recent deals with Amazon and Comedy Central Latin America for the series.
