Pantaya makes first unscripted move

Spanish-language streamer Pantaya has commissioned its first unscripted original series, a comedic documentary featuring Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez, with Amazon Prime Video picking up the international rights.

De Viaje con los Derbez (Derbez Family Vacation) follows the actor and his family as they embark on an adventure through Morocco. Each episode is 30 minutes long.

Derbez is the star, writer, director and producer of a number of Spanish-language TV shows and films and has also provided his voice for Spanish-language versions of animated films like DreamWorks’ Shrek and Disney’s Mulan.

De Viaje con los Derbez is produced by Derbez’s 3Pas Studios and Wallin Chambers Entertainment in association with Lionsgate Television.

It will launch exclusively in the US and Puerto Rico on Lionsgate- and Hemisphere Media Group-owned Pantaya and will stream internationally on Amazon Prime Video.

Exec producing are Derbez, Ben Odell, Katy Wallin, Stephanie Bloch Chambers, Mauricio Ochmann and Aislinn Derbez.
