OUTtv rebrands streamer Froot.tv, expands into Nordics with Allente pact

For the Love of DILFs is hosted by Stormy Daniels

UK and Ireland LGBTQ+ streamer Froot.tv is rebranding as OUTflix and expanding into new European territories through a deal in the Nordics.

The OUTtv-owned streamer, which launched in the UK as a direct-to-consumer (D2C) offering in 2020, is expanding into Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland through a partnership with pay TV and streaming provider Allente.

It is also expanding its UK and Ireland footprint with the launch of a D2C OUTflix app. The service costs £2.99 (US$3.78) per month.

OUTflix also announced the greenlight for queer comedy series Stand Up Specials London (5×45’), which will feature sets from emerging comedians including James Barr, Heleana Blackwell, David Ian, Kat Nip and Vix Leyton.

Other UK original projects commissioned previously for OUTflix include Somina Fombo’s Some Girls Hate Dresses, about the lives of black British tomboys from the 1990s, and an upcoming documentary about the Bender Defenders, which highlights five queer, non-binary and transgender people at a queer Muay Thai club in East London.

Both projects were developed through OUTtv, The Iris Prize and Aberystwth University’s joint film financing fund for emerging British LGBTQ+ filmmakers.

OUTtv’s slate of original series includes Call Me Mother, Gogo For The Gold, For the Love of DILFs, hosted by Stormy Daniels, The Villbergs Chronicles, Iconic Justice, Hot Haus, Trixie Mattel: Skinny Legend, My Trans Journey and documentary strand OutSpoken.

“OUTtv has always been a trailblazing platform, recognising that queer audiences and allies are a significant segment of the viewer population and offering them both original and acquired content – ranging from overlooked stories from the past like Some Girls Hate Dresses, to bubbly and authentic dating series like Stormy Daniels-fronted For the Love of DILFs,” said OUTtv and OUT Media Group CEO Brad Danks.

“We are unifying the brand as we expand across Europe and beyond, so we’re thrilled to be launching OUTflix alongside our partnership with Allente across the Nordics, and look forward to many more viewers discovering the treasure trove of LGBTQI+ content we continue to grow.”
