OTT revenue in Eastern Europe to climb 82% by 2029, according to Digital TV Research

OTT revenue in Eastern Europe will reach US$6.96bn (£5,5bn) in 2029, up 82% from $3.82bn in 2023, according to UK analysis firm Digital TV Research.

Of the $3.1bn additional revenue between 2023 and 2029, Russia will provide $1bn and Poland will contribute $700m.

Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research, said: “Together Poland and Russia will account for two-thirds of the region’s 2029 revenues. This means that the remaining 20 countries will share $2.57bn – or an average of only $129m each.”

By platform, SVoD revenue will reach $4.3bn in 2029, up from $2.4bn in 2023. Russia and Poland will be the only countries to generate SVoD revenue in excess of $1bn. AVoD revenue will increase to $1.9bn in 2029 from $856m in 2023.
