OTF bolsters development team

European producer and distributor Off the Fence has hired former BBC Studios and Top Hat executive Becky Pott as a development producer.

Becky Pott

Pott has worked for 10 years in documentary production and development at companies including Mindhouse and Lambent, as well as BBC Studios and Top Hat.

Pott, who specialises in access documentaries exploring subjects including crime, mental health, history and art, will be based in the UK city of Bristol.

Her credits include Louis Theroux: The Night in Question and Louis Theroux: Mothers on the Edge, both for BBC2; Max Clifford: The Fall of a Tabloid King (Channel 4); The Met: Policing London (BBC1); and Raped: My Story (Channel 5).

Pott’s arrival follows the unveiling of a new editorial strategy at Off the Fence a week ago.

“I am looking forward to joining Off the Fence in Bristol. It is such an exciting time to be working with the company. They are going from strength to strength,” said Pott.

“Today’s constantly developing market features more places to sell content than ever before. And this content can take a wide range of formats. Investing directly in our own brand opens up a world of new opportunities. Investing in the development team is investing in the heart of any creative company,” said Off the Fence’s recently promoted chief content officer Allison Bean.
