Ordinary Woman heads down under

Award-winning Russian drama An Ordinary Woman

MIPTV: Australian and new New Zealand broadcasters have acquired Russian drama An Ordinary Woman from UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights.

SBS in Oz and TVNZ have picked up the 9×60’ series, produced by 1-2-3 Production and Look Film for TV3 in Russia.

It centres on 39-year-old Marina who secretly earns her money from a WhatsApp network for prostitutes, while her family also has their own secrets. He life begins to collapse when one of her girls is found dead in a hotel room.

An Ordinary Woman became the first Russian drama selected as part of Series Mania’s official competition in 2018, while its star, Anna Mikhalkova, won the best actress award at the same event.

The series also won Best TV Mini-Series and Best TV/Film Actress for Mikhalkova at Russia’s 2019 National Film and Television Producers Association Awards.
