Once México ups Brito Lavalle to GM

Mexican educational and cultural channel Once México has promoted Carlos Brito Lavalle to general manager.

Once México operates channels for both Mexican and US Hispanic audiences, offering fiction, cinema, documentary, news, opinion and analysis, and kids’ programming.

Since joining the company in 2019, Brito Lavalle has served as coordinator of operations, coordinator of the Aprende en Casa (Learn at Home) programmes and head of the acquisitions division.

As general manager, Brito Lavalle will continue with the channel’s education project, which he helped implement earlier in the pandemic, and will focus on its mission of providing public education services.

He will also adjust Once México’s content distribution to the viewing demands of different audiences.

In the US, Brito Lavalle will continue working on the channel’s digital growth and will implement new multiplatform communication strategies. He will seek to position Once México outside of the country as a reference point of Mexican culture for all Spanish-speaking families in the US.

Once México is represented and distributed in the US by Canal+ subsidiary Thema America.
