Tiny Speck Productions, the fledgling prodco from comedian and actor Omid Djalili, has partnered with UK-based Nest Productions to film the pilot for its first comedy series.

Directed by Matt Lipsey (Ted Lasso) and starring Djalili alongside Tom Goodman-Hill (Baby Reindeer) and Llewella Gideon (Queenie), the as-yet-unnamed pilot is set and has been filmed in Ipswich, where Tiny Speck is based.

Produced with support from Ipswich Borough Council, it was written by Djalili, star of series such as The Omid Djalili Show on the BBC and films including The Infidel, alongside Isabella Djalili-Devine, Louis Djalili and Ara Devine. Plot details remain under wraps.

The executive producers are Djalili and Shahin Sobhani (The Infidel), with producers Devine, Djalili-Devine and Louis Djalili.

Omid Djalili has had a long career in film and TV as well as stand-up comedy, with appearances in The Change (Channel 4), The Letter For the King (Netflix), His Dark Materials (BBC/HBO), Snatch (Sony) and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man (Sky), among others.

It marks the first scripted comedy series from Tiny Speck, which was set up earlier this year to “explore society’s big questions through a hopeful lens, with scripted and unscripted comedy.”
