Olly drives his van to NZ

Olly The Little White Van (below, 52×5′), the UK children’s animation that airs on CiTV and GMTV, has found a broadcast home in New Zealand, its producer-distributor Taylor Drew Productions has confirmed.

Kiwi public broadcaster TVNZ has acquired seasons one and two of the vehicle-led, high-definition show and will air it within its Kidzone block on TVNZ-6, under a deal secured by Taylor Drew’s CEO Nigel Taylor.

The block “is all about quality educational content for preschoolers that parents also enjoy watching, and Olly The Little White Van fits this ethos perfectly,” said TVNZ’s content and programming manager for digital channels Juliet Jensen, who handles content for diginets TVNZ-6 and TVNZ-7.

The series is based on a idea by Henry Becket from UK firm Ideas at Work and was written and produced by Taylor Drew, which holds worldwide TV, home entertainment and publishing rights.

“With GMTV in the UK and TVNZ onboard, the programme is moving in the right direction to become a successful cross-platform brand,” said Taylor.
