Oliver lands US food series with a twist

Jamie Oliver is taking his unique brand of campaigning cockney cookery into the States, where a series has been greenlit based on his UK series Jamie’s Ministry of Food and Jamie’s School Dinners.

ABC has ordered Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution from Ryan Seacrest Productions and the eponymous chef’s own indie Fresh One Productions. It will debut on Friday March 26 at 21.00.

In the show, Oliver will attempt to tackle obesity, heart disease and diabetes related to bad diet, starting with Huntington, West Virginia – which has been called the unhealthiest city in America.

The executive producers of are Oliver, Seacrest and Craig Armstrong (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition). Oliver’s recent television credits include Oprah’s Big Give for ABC.
