Off the Fence explores Canada as Wiebers heads up new office

ZDF Enterprises-owned producer-distributor Off the Fence (OTF) has opened a new office in Toronto – its first Canadian branch.

Imelda Wiebers

The UK and Netherlands-based company has made more than 500 hours of content for Canadian broadcasters including pubcaster CBC, Société Radio Canada and the Knowledge Network. The new office will look to build on a history of co-productions with Canadian companies.

Heading up the Canadian operation is Off the Fence’s director of commercial & business affairs Imelda Wiebers, who has more than 10 years’ experience in the factual content industry and specialises in IP value assessment.

Wiebers said: “North America is a key territory in the factual content business and having a presence in this market will help bring even more opportunities for OTF. The new Canadian office is yet another step to take the company to the next level and I’m thrilled to be part of that expansion.”

Bo Stehmeier

OTF CEO Bo Stehmeier added: “I have had the pleasure of working with Imelda for over a decade now and I couldn’t think of a better ambassador to help us put Off the Fence on the Canadian map.

“Her commercial acumen and intrinsic knowledge of Off the Fence’s ecosystem will help her realise the Canadian opportunities that we have already identified plus the many more we are envisioning.”
