Nutopia hires ex-BBC exec

Jane Root’s factual-skewing production firm Nutopia has hired the former head of history and business programming at BBC Productions as executive producer.

Dominic Crossley-Holland, also a former controller of current affairs, religion and arts at commercial UK broadcaster ITV, has joined the UK and US-based firm.

While at the BBC’s in-house production arm, Crossley-Holland worked on series such as Inside Facebook, Down the Grand Canyon and BP: 30 Billion Dollar Blowout.

Nutopia, founded by former BBC2 and Discovery Channel controller Root in 2009, is currently working on Civilisations for BBC and PBS in the US, as well as One Strange Rock, a coproduction with Protozoa Pictures for National Geographic Channel.
