Nutopia adds C4 alum Boyd

Jane Root’s factual-skewing production firm Nutopia has hired a commissioning editor who previously worked at UK broadcasters Channel 4 (C4) and London Live.

Katie Boyd takes up the role of executive producer at Nutopia, having most recently served a short stint as senior commissioning editor at fledgling local TV channel London Live.

The exec commissioned a range of programmes between 2010 and 2013 at C4, including Superscrimpers, Double Your House for Half the Money and All Back To School.

Meanwhile, Nutopia has reappointed Simon Willgoss from UK indie CB Films to its development team, which he will now head up. Deputy head of development, Lee McNulty, has also been promoted to in-house producer.

Last month Nutopia appointed AMC Networks’ former director of unscripted programming, Allyson Mandelbaum, as director of its US development team, based in New York.
