Nuclear bomb doc drops on Onza

Movistar+ and 93 Metros’ doc Palomares: The Atomic Bomb Fiasco

Spain’s Onza Distribution has acquired the international rights to documentary series Palomares: The Atomic Bomb Fiasco from local streamer Movistar+.

The 4×52’ series, which focuses on the 80-day crisis that ensued after the US Air Force accidentally dropped four hydrogen bombs around a Spanish village in 1966, has been available on the streaming service since April 22.

Produced by Movistar+ and Spain’s 93 Metros, Palomares was written by Daniel Boluda and María Cabo.

Carlos Garde, director of Onza Distribution, said: “Palomares is a unique, once-suppressed story that is already generating conversation among the main international buyers. This alliance with Movistar+ forms part of our strategy for growth by uniting with key producers in Spain.”
