Nova TV, Kanal 5, Imedi TV fall for Eccho Rights’ Turkish drama Golden Boy

Golden Boy premiered on Turkey’s Star TV

Broadcasters in Central Europe have acquired Turkish drama Golden Boy from Scandinavian distributor Eccho Rights, bringing the total number of territories in which it will air to more than 30.

Nova TV in Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro, Kanal 5 in North Macedonia, Imedi TV in Georgia and Antena 1/Happy Channel in Romania have acquired the series.

The series has also been licensed into 23 territories throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through MBC Group.

Produced by OGM Pictures, Golden Boy is the latest series from the creators of My Home My Destiny, The Red Room and Chrysalis, and premiered on Turkey’s Star TV in September 2022.

The family drama tells the story of two sisters who cross paths with the heir to a family full of betrayal, lies and secrets.

Eccho Rights added the series to its catalogue ahead of Mipcom in Cannes last October and the distributor said it has been made available in more than 30 countries in three months.

“It is years since we have seen anything like this performance from a drama series in Turkey, so it is no surprise that the interest among international buyers is especially high for this amazing title,” said Handan Özkubat, director of Turkish drama at Eccho Rights.
