Nordic World shuffles senior team

TV2 Norway-owned distributor Nordic World has reshuffled its senior management team following Jan Salling’s departure last week.

Ann Christin Siljan has been promoted to VP of acquisitions and Paulina Eklund to VP of sales under the restructure.

Nordic World CEO Espen Huseby said the appointments were the “beginning of a fresh chapter” for the firm, which continues to transition from a regional distributor to an international player.

The move follows the recent bankruptcy of Dutch formats house Absolutely Independent, which Nordic World acquired from Patty Geneste in January last year. Nordic World co-founder, Sweden’s TV4, pulled out in December last year.

Salling: setting up Missing Link Media

Jan Salling

Last week C21 revealed Jan Salling, Nordic World’s director of sales and chief operating officer, was leaving the company to set up on his own.

Salling will continue to work with Nordic World on an executive consultancy basis out of his new company, Missing Link Media. Huseby is in the midst of appointing a replacement.

Former Mastiff Television exec producer Siljan joined Nordic World three years ago as director of sales and acquisitions. In her new role, she will be responsible for worldwide acquisitions as well as key sales accounts in several strategically important territories.

New York City-based Eklund, previously director of sales, joined Nordic World in August 2014 from Absolutely Independent.

She will continue to be based in NYC, where she will lead the firm’s worldwide sales efforts and drive North American expansion. Both Siljan and Eklund will report to Huseby.
