Nordic pubcasters SVT, NRK, DR, YLE pre-buy BBC Studios’ The Chelsea Detective

MIPCOM: Nordic pubcasters SVT in Sweden, NRK in Norway, DR in Denmark and YLE in Finland have pre-bought forthcoming procedural series The Chelsea Detective.

Produced by BBC Studios-backed Expectation and commissioned by AMC Networks-owned streaming service Acorn TV and German pubcaster ZDF, the 4×90’ drama stars Adrian Scarborough (Killing Eve, Gavin & Stacey) as a detective inspector who investigates crimes in London’s affluent Chelsea area.

The Chelsea Detective was created by Expectation co-founder Peter Fincham, who writes alongside Glen Laker (Vera, Prime Suspect) and Liz Lake (Riviera, Call the Midwife). BBC Studios is distributing the series internationally and has been shopping it at Mipcom this week.

Acorn TV will premiere The Chelsea Detective in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand, among other countries, in 2022.

The pre-sales were revealed at Cannes event Mipcom, which concludes today.
