Nine’s Alien TV lands on Netflix

Alien TV will debut on Australia’s Nine Network

Global streamer Netflix has picked up Australian children’s series Alien TV from Entertainment One.

Coproduced by Canada-based Entertainment One (eOne) and Australia’s Pop Family Entertainment, Alien TV combines real-world imagery and CGI animation to follow the slapstick adventures of an extra-terrestrial television news crew as they try to cover life on Earth.

The 26×30′ series, targeted at kids aged 6-11 and their families, was originally commissioned by Australia’s Nine Network, where it will premiere this month.

It will land on Netflix globally later this summer after distributor eOne closed a deal with the streamer.

“Our new show, Alien TV, takes recognisable situations and transforms them into side-splittingly hilarious visual gags that have an instant and universal appeal for both kids and parents,” said Olivier Dumont, president of family brands at eOne.
