Nickelodeon takes Korean-American family toon Wylde Pak from shorts to series

Wylde Pak is prodced by Nickelodeon

Paramount-owned kids’ network Nickelodeon is gearing up to launch a 2D-animated series about the daily life of a blended multi-generational Korean-American family.

Wylde Pak marks the second project to be greenlit from Nickelodeon’s Intergalactic Shorts Program, which was launched in 2012 to enable creatives to make shorts at Nickelodeon Animation Studio with the potential for them to become full series.

Produced by Nickelodeon, the 26-episode series is co-created by executive producers Paul Watling (The Tiger’s Apprentice) and Kyle Marshall (The Loud House) and based on their own family experiences growing up.

Wylde Pak features the adventures of half-siblings Lily and Jack as they learn to navigate new family dynamics under one roof for the first time. It is scheduled to premiere this summer, with Paramount Global Content Distribution handling international sales.

Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, said: “Nickelodeon’s commitment to showcasing stories about the human experience, filled with humour and adventure, holds true with the debut of the original series Wylde Pak.”
