Nick Hornby’s State of the Union gets Canuck adaptation

Louis Morissette and Marie-Claude Guérin play a couple meeting for weekly marital therapy sessions

NEWS BRIEF: French-Canadian public broadcaster Radio-Canada has commissioned a local adaptation of Nick Hornby’s shortform TV drama State of the Union for its SVoD platform Verotv.ca.

Montreal-based prodco KOTV Productions acquired the remake rights to the series which is based on Hornby’s novel State of the Union – A Marriage in Ten Parts and originally produced by See Saw Films for Sundance Now in the US. Endeavor Content is handling finished tape and format rights to the series. Louis Morissette and Marie-Claude Guérin will take on the Chris O’Dowd and Rosamund Pike roles in the remake, titled l’Union Libre.
