Newen Studios subsidiary iZen launches documentary prodco Capa Spain

The Spanish subsidiary of French commercial broadcaster TF1’s production and distribution arm Newen Studios, iZen, has launched documentary prodco Capa Spain.

The prodco has been launched in collaboration with director, exec producer and investigative journalist Tomás Ocaña. It will develop international documentaries in Spain and throughout the wider Hispanic market.

Ocaña already leads his own production boutique The Facto Productions, based in Madrid and Miami, which aims to tell general interest stories that others can’t or won’t reveal.

Capa Spain will operate as a sister company to Newen’s press agency and production company Capa in France.

Ocaña said: “Capa Spain was born to tell the best stories by combining the rigour of journalism and the narrative of fiction. It is meant to be a guarantee of quality, rigour and fast-paced storytelling to produce highly relevant docuseries.

“It is an honour to join Newen Studios with the aim of taking non-fiction and documentary formats to the next level in our country. Spain is a strategic point for many of the great stories, which makes it the perfect place to undertake a project like this, from our territory but looking at the whole world.”
