New head at A&E Network

Robert DeBitetto has been promoted to evp and gm of A&E Network, taking over strategic planning with a remit also to oversee fellow AETN-owned The Biography Channel and the Crime & Investigation Network.

Previously, DeBitetto oversaw A&E Network’s programming strategies, the creative development of original films, series, documentaries, and specials, as well as scheduling and acquisition.

In his new role, DeBitetto will be responsible for A&E’s strategic planning, programming, consumer marketing, brand development, public relations and on-air promotions.

DeBitetto succeeds Abbe Raven, now AETN president and ceo, who was appointed to the top post at the company in March following Nickolas Davatzes’ retirement. DeBitetto will continue to report to Raven.
