Nevision promotes factual exec Anne Morrison to CEO, creative director

London-based indie Nevision has promoted its creative director for factual programmes, Anne Morrison, to CEO and creative director.

Anne Morrison

Morrison’s remit will be to focus on the future growth and strategic expansion of the company, working with both established and up-and-coming global talent across scripted, factual and kids and family.

She will also continue in her role as creative director of factual programmes for Nevision, which is behind shows such as The Missing Children, a coproduction with True Vision for ITV in the UK in association with Topic in the US and Irish public broadcaster RTÉ.

Morrison will work with Nevision’s creative director for kids and family, Nigel Pickard, and creative director for scripted, Neil Zeiger, on the company’s active development slate. She will also work with Nevision’s US operation, Nevision Inc, and sister company Nevis Productions, based in Copenhagen and Stockholm.

James Cabourne, executive chairman of Nevision, founded the company in 2014 and has previously served as its CEO.

Nevision’s slate of upcoming titles includes feature film Glenrothan, the directorial debut from Succession star Brian Cox, which is in development with Lionsgate UK, and Goode Stuff, an animated series for kids aged six to 12, coproduced with Israeli production house Ananey.

Bafta and RTS Award winner Morrison is an executive producer with a background in documentaries and factual programme-making.

She previously spent more than 20 years in senior management at the BBC. As controller of documentaries and contemporary factual at the UK pubcaster, she was behind titles such as Dunkirk, The Secret Policeman, The Queen’s Golden Jubilee, One Life, What Not to Wear and Top Gear.

After leaving the BBC, she served as chair of Bafta from 2014 to 2016, the second woman to be elected to the position in its history, before joining Nevision in 2019.

Morrison said: “Since joining Nevision three years ago, I have seen the company flourish as a producer. We now have an impactful slate of well-crafted, character-driven stories across factual, factual entertainment, scripted and kids and family, and I look forward to making content in partnership with leading broadcasters and platforms globally.

“With our outreach now expanded to the US with Nevision Inc and our sister company Nevis Productions in Scandinavia, we are well positioned to tell stories that resonate with viewers both in the UK and internationally.”
