Nevision comes aboard for Atlantic Crossing

Kyle MacLachlan plays FDR in Atlantic Crossing

London-based producer Nevision has come on board the forthcoming Norwegian drama Atlantic Crossing, starring Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) and Sofia Helin (The Bridge).

The 8×60′ big-budget Second World War political thriller is currently in production in the Czech Republic and Norway for Norwegian broadcaster NRK, with delivery scheduled for 2020.

It focuses on Norwegian Crown Princess Märtha (Helin), who fled from the Nazi occupation to become a key figure in world politics, living in the White House and trying to persuade President Roosevelt (MacLachlan) to enter the war.

Cinenord is producing the series for NRK with coproducer Beta Film handling worldwide sales. One of the biggest Scandinavian productions to date, it has secured £3.5m (US$4.6m) in subsidies from the Norwegian Film Institute’s incentive scheme.

Created and directed by Alexander Eik, with co-scriptwriter Linda Kallenstein, it is being filmed in English and Norwegian.

James Cabourne, executive chairman at Nevision, said: “A key aim for Nevision is to build our portfolio of high quality drama series from across Europe – Atlantic Crossing is the perfect addition to our slate.”
