Netflix to play second round of Squid Game, travels to BioWare’s Dragon Age

Korean drama series Squid Game

Netflix has greenlit a second season of South Korean survival drama Squid Game and an anime series based on video game Dragon Age.

Written, directed and exec produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game became the most-watched series on Netflix shortly after its debut in September last year.

The series revolves around a competition where a group of players, all of whom have deep financial problems, risk their lives to play deadly children’s games for the chance to win millions. Sirens Pictures is the production company.

The anime series is called Dragon Age: Absolution and is created in collaboration with the video game franchise’s creator BioWare.

Set in the fictional land of Tevinter, it features an ensemble of new characters inspired by Dragon Age lore. Red Dog Culture House is the production company on the series, which is slated to debut this December. Mairghread Scott is showrunner.
