Netflix to launch adult animated comedy Alley Cats from Ricky Gervais

Alley Cats is being illustrated by Blink Industries

Netflix is launching an adult animated comedy series from British comedian and actor Ricky Gervais.

Debuting in 2026, Alley Cats (6×15’) follows the trials and tribulations of a group of feral British cats who seek companionship while ruminating about the struggles of everyday life.

Blink Industries is producing the animation for the 2D series, which stars a voice cast including Gervais, Tom Basden, Andrew Brooke, David Earl, Kerry Godliman, Jo Hartley, Diane Morgan, Natalie Cassidy and Tony Way.

Gervais joked: “I play a fat, lazy, rude, opinionated creature with fangs, who’s not as smart or brave as he thinks he is. So quite a stretch.”

Gervais exec produces through his prodco Derek Productions, alongside Steven Hamilton Shaw, founder of Shush Creative. Elliot Dear is co-directing.
