Netflix, Stage 32 team for global education workshop series to democratise creation

Netflix partners with Stage 32

Netflix and educational network Stage 32 have partnered on a global education series aimed at democratising the global entertainment industry.

Earlier in the year, the two organisations collaborated on a TV pitching workshop attended by 100,000 aspiring creators from across 160 countries.

On Monday, the pair revealed a new partnership that aims to give creators of tomorrow access to industry experts who can guide them on best practices around film and TV creation.

Starting December 15, the Creating Content for the Global Marketplace programme will see participants learn how to format a television pilot and create a series budget, with sessions designed to break down the pilot and budget process for different scripted genres including drama, sci-fi and comedy.

Workshops will be presented by the likes of Tripper Clancy, whose writing credits include: Die Hart, Varsity Blues and feature film Stuber; Mickey Fisher, a showrunner, writer and producer for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Strain and Extant; Vijal Patel, a writer and producer with credits on Black-ish and The Middle; and development executive and producer Anna M Henry.

Since launching in 2011, Stage 32’s global community has grown to include around 800,000 creatives and executives. Its education library for film, TV and digital content creators includes more than 2,000 hours of programming.
