The creative partnership extends Youssef’s relationship with Netflix. He is the co-creator and executive producer of dramedy series Mo, which stars Mo Amer as a Palestinian refugee living in Houston, Texas.

Produced by Cairo Cowboy and A24 Films, it debuted on Netflix in 2022 and a second season is currently being readied.

Youssef is also the co-creator and executive producer of forthcoming Netflix series Golf. Starring Will Ferrell (Anchorman), it’s a comedy about a pro golfer who becomes the face of a controversial new league competing with the PGA tour.

Youssef will co-star in the show, which is produced by Cairo Cowboy, T-Street Productions and Gloria Sanchez Productions, the sister label of Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions.

Youssef made his TV breakthrough with Hulu dramedy Ramy in 2019. Produced by Cairo Cowboy, Foxera and Morningside Entertainment, it sees Youssef play a first-generation American Muslim on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighbourhood.

Other TV projects Youssef has been involved in include acting in three episodes of Mr. Robot for USA Network, hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live and starring in HBO comedy special, Ramy Youssef: Feelings.
