Netflix picks up Critter Fixers prodco Hit + Run’s reality series Swap Shop

Global streamer Netflix has acquired reality series Swap Shop from New York-based factual producer Hit + Run.

Rob Shaftel

Set to debut on the service on Tuesday November 9, the show follows a group of men and women who depend on a long-running Tennessee radio show to buy, sell and swap unique items over the airwaves.

Hit + Run, founded by former ITV Studios America exec Rob Shaftel in 2016, has also previously produced the reality show Critter Fixers: Country Vets (NatGeo Wild).

“Swap Shop is one of those rare, feel-good shows with cross-generational appeal. With humour and heart, the characters are passionate and the scores are limitless,” said Shaftel, who executive produces the series alongside Jerry Carita.

In addition to Critter Fixers: Country Vets, which is currently in production on a third season, Hit + Run is also in production on Pop Goes the Vet with Dr Joya (NatGeo Wild) and Appetite for Adventure (NatGeo).
