Netflix orders limited drama based on Devil in Ohio novel, Emily Deschanel to star

US-based global streaming giant Netflix has commissioned a new thriller drama series, Devil in Ohio, starring Emily Deschanel (Bones).

The limited series is based on the bestselling novel by Daria Polatin (Jack Ryan, Hunters), who will work as showrunner and executive producer on the adaptation.

Based on a true story, the show is currently in production in Vancouver and follows a hospital psychiatrist who shelters a mysterious cult escapee but finds her world is turned upside down as the strange girl’s arrival threatens to tear her own family apart.

The 8×45’ series also stars Sam Jaeger, Gerardo Celasco, Madeleine Arthur, Xaria Dotson, Alisha Newton and Naomi Tan.

John Fawcett, Brad Anderson, Leslie Hope, Steve Adelson will direct episodes, with Rachel Miller (Under the Electric Sky) Andrew Wilder and Ian Hay producing alongside Polatin. Haven Entertainment is the production company.
