Netflix opens Buenos Aires office, unveils new projects

Dibu Martínez: The Kid Who Saves Time is produced by Pegsa

Netflix unveiled three new projects at its Made in Argentina event in Buenos Aires this week, coinciding with the opening of its new offices in the city, from where its more than 40 local employees will work.

“Argentina has become a key player in our regional strategy because of its audiovisual tradition, creative power and ability to tell local stories whose significance and impact make them universal,” said Francisco Ramos, VP of content for Latin America.

“Our commitment to the country and the Argentine audiovisual industry is not only renewed but strengthened with what was announced today.”

Among the new projects announced is series Disorganised Crime, which combines thriller and humour and will be produced by Pampa Films. Starring Celeste Cid, Marco Antonio Caponi, Matías Mayer, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez and Soledad Silveyra, the series was written by Martín Méndez and Marcelo Camaño.

It tells the story of a group of thieves, strangers to each other, who rob a bank and meet at a house to collect payment for their job. But the leader who recruited them arrives wounded and dies, without explanation and without the loot.

The drama is joined by two documentaries among the new releases announced. The first, an acquisition, is Dibu Martínez: The Kid Who Saves Time, produced by Pegsa and directed by Hernán Casciari.

Focusing on the figure of the Argentine national team’s goalkeeper Dibu Martínez, the film combines archive footage with illustrations and animations by the renowned Argentine cartoonist Liniers.

“With a combination of cartoons created by Liniers, archival footage and interviews with his friends, family and teammates, it is a tender and courageous story about how his inner strength led him to glory, becoming an inspiration for new generations,” Netflix said.

The second doc is Fito Páez: The World Fits in a Song, by Ánima Films. Directed by Matías Gueilburt and written by Nicolás and Matías Gueilburt, the film shows the intimacy of the Argentine musician during more than a year of recordings, rehearsals, tours and performances in major cities in Latin America, Europe and the US.

The three new projects join Netflix’s 2026-27 Argentine slate, which includes 16 other previously announced productions. These include series Carísima (Labhouse in association with Olga), El futuro es nuestro (K&S Films and Electric Shepherd Productions), En el barro season three (Underground Producciones), Envidiosa season four (Preludio Producciones and Kapow) and Gordon (Preludio Producciones).

Other series are Mis muertos tristes (Fábula), Mafalda (Mundoloco CGI), Moria (About Entertainment), Tiempo al tiempo (Underground Producciones) and the still untitled series by Sebastián Borensztein, produced by Kenya Films and K&S Films and starring Chino Darín.
