Netflix extends streaming pact with AMC Networks

AMC library shows heading to Netflix include Orphan Black

Netflix and AMC Networks have extended their streaming pact, through which the streaming giant licenses content from AMC and AMC Studios for its platform in the US.

The deal was initially agreed in July 2024 for one year. Under the extended agreement, Netflix will license new shows including season two of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, season three of Dark Winds, season two of The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon, season two of The Walking Dead: Dead City and season two of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches.

Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order, which is scheduled to premiere on AMC in October, will stream on Netflix next year.

AMC library shows heading to Netflix include Orphan Black, Orphan Black: Echoes, Parish, This is Going to Hurt, NOS4A2 and Soulmates. The updated deal will also expand into select international territories outside the US.

AMC Networks CEO Kristin Dolan said: “We are pleased to expand and extend our branded content licensing agreement with Netflix, with an even stronger focus on the franchises that are resonating with viewers and performing so well on Netflix.

“This renewal also brings some of our franchise titles, including forthcoming seasons, to Netflix subscribers in select international markets, complementing our own international reach.

“Our ability to produce great shows and make them available to viewers across a wide variety of platforms is driving our company forward in this changing time in media. Netflix has been an incredibly valuable partner, helping raise awareness and interest in our popular and acclaimed AMC Studios series.”
