L-R: Ravneet Gill, Michel Roux Jr and Mike Reid of Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef

Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef, the new cooking format from Netflix and Channel 4, will debut on the UK commercially funded pubcaster next month.

Featuring chef Michel Roux Jr, hospitality consultant and pastry chef Ravneet Gill and restaurateur Mike Reid as judges, the previously announced commission will premiere on C4 on June 8 before streaming on Netflix outside the UK and Ireland later this year.

The six-part series is produced by London-based prodco Twenty Twenty (First Dates) and distributed by Warner Bros International Television Production.

In the show, up-and-coming chefs compete in challenges to win the grand prize of running their own restaurant at five-star London hotel The Langham.

The series was commissioned for C4 by Alf Lawrie, head of factual entertainment, and Daniel Fromm, commissioning editor for factual entertainment.

The executive producers are Ruth Kelly and Amanda Westwood, with Kate Fryer as showrunner.
