From April 1, Gurman will be responsible for the production and acquisition of the streamer’s Brazilian films and will report to Elisabetta Zenatti, VP of original content at Netflix Brazil.

Gurman has over 10 years of experience in the film exhibition, production and distribution sectors, including working at Reserva Cultural de Cinema, Cinemark and Paris Filmes. In 2018, he founded Galeria Distribuidora with Sílvia Cruz, with the aim of innovating in the production and distribution of local content, betting on titles with strong commercial appeal.

Galeria later became the partner of Telefilms, the distribution and production company led by Tomás Darcyl and Ricardo Costianovsky, for the production of films in Brazil. Among these were Cinderela Pop and the hits A Menina Que Matou Os Pais and O Menino Que Matou Meus Pais.

Since October 2020, Gurman has been in charge of Galeria Distribuidora and independent distributor Diamond Films Brazil.

In September, Netflix announced 10 new original productions in Brazil, including the films Meu Cunhado é um Vampiro and a sequel to its original film Ricos de Amor.
