Neon lights to way to Netflix reggaeton comedy series from author Shea Serrano

Global streamer Netflix has greenlit a reggaeton-themed comedy series called Neon.

Created by author Shea Serrano, Neon focuses on three friends who move from a small town in Florida to Miami with the hope of making it big in the world of reggaeton music.

The eight-episode show chronicles the trio’s larger-than-life dreams, as well as the harsh comic realities of attempting to make it in the music industry.

Max Searle is showrunner on Neon, which stars Tyler Dean Flores, Emma Ferreira, Jordan Mendoza and Courtney Taylor.

Searle also exec produces with Serrano and SB Projects’ founder Scooter Braun, chief operating officer Scott Manson and exec VP of film and TV James Shin.

SB Projects’ director of film and TV Kyle Vinuya will co-exec produce, while Mendoza (Jigsaw) serves as consulting producer.
