Victor Ljungberg has stepped down as CEO and will now serve as strategic advisor to the company. Henrik Asmussen, previously vice-CEO and chief financial officer at Splay One, has taken over as the company’s CEO with immediate effect.

Over the past seven years, Ljungberg has built up Splay One’s sales, established its agency activities and most recently focused on strategy and business development. In his new role, he will focus on overseeing the company’s strategic development.

Asmussen joined Splay One two years ago and previously held positions at NENT Studios and in MTG’s strategy department.

As a result of Asmussen’s new role as CEO, Martin Sadik, previously Nordic head of finance at Splay One, will take over as the company’s new CFO.

Splay One is currently seeking a buyer, after NENT Studios shifted its focus to its scripted and drama projects. The company hopes to be under new ownership by the autumn.

Ljungberg said: “During my time at Splay One, the company has gone from a basement start-up to a Nordic leader in influencer marketing, branded content and brand safe video advertising. The new owner can look forward to a very interesting journey. I will now focus on Splay One’s strategic development. Henrik Asmussen has been a brilliant sparring partner and he is just the right person to lead the company forward.”

Splay One has more than 105 employees in four countries and delivered revenues of more than SEK250m (US$28m), according to its latest annual report.
