NENT to put The Head on Viaplay

John Lynch in The Head

Nordic Entertainment (NENT) Group has become the latest international broadcaster to pick up HBO Asia and Hulu Japan drama The Head.

The 6×52′ series, starring John Lynch, Katharine O’Donnelly and Alexandre Willaume, will premiere across the Nordic region in the autumn on NENT streaming service Viaplay.

HBO Asia and Hulu Japan commissioned the series from Spain’s Mediapro Studio and creators Àlex and David Pastor.

Shot in the Canary Islands and Iceland, The Head tells the story of a group of scientists stationed in Antarctica who stop communicating with the outside world during a long, dark winter. When the summer commander returns, he finds the group’s members either dead or missing.

The English- and Danish-language series is directed by Jorge Dorado (The Pier) and written by Àlex and David Pastor (Carriers) along with Isaac Sastre (Al filo de la ley).

The Head was recently picked up by French pay TV broadcaster Canal+.
