The last ever MipTV wrapped in Cannes last week with organisers RX France claiming the spring market ended on a high note but with attendance down on previous years.

Senior TV executives attending the 61st and final edition expressed mixed feelings about the curtain officially coming down on event and plans for a move to the UK next February alongside the London TV Screenings.

Among those in Cannes was Ana Langenberg, senior VP of format sales and production at NBCUniversal Formats, who spoke there to Neil Batey about these changes and the backdrop against which they’re happening – with a commissioning crisis sweeping some countries as budgets are cut, and uncertainty caused by strikes and AI hanging over the industry.
