NBCUniversal in Asia-Pacific promotes Caroline Cleland new regional VP role

NBCUniversal has elevated senior executive Caroline Cleland to the newly created position of VP Asia-Pacific (APAC) international networks and direct-to-consumer (D2C).

Caroline Cleland

Cleland takes on the role following Chris Taylor’s appointment as MD for APAC, TV distribution, international networks and DTC earlier this year.

The new role will make Cleland responsible for the strategy and operational direction of NBCU International and D2C across the region, overseeing programming, acquisitions, commercial, marketing, creative and production, continuing to drive the growth and performance of the portfolio.

Reporting to Taylor and remaining in NBCU’s Sydney office, Cleland will be responsible for driving audience engagement and brand awareness, revenue growth and new business, in tandem with managing relationships with key stakeholders, advertisers and affiliate operators.

A veteran of the company since 2008, Cleland has held a variety of roles and most recently led the group’s regional programming and acquisitions team across APAC for the group’s portfolio of channel brands, including Bravo, Universal TV, Oxygen True Crime, DreamWorks, Peacock-branded Hub and Studio Universal.

In a further restructuring of the APAC team, Simon Hebblewhite has been promoted to senior director of finance and Jane McLaren has been upped to director, public relations and communications.
