Joining the Peacock leadership team in November, LA-based Campbell will be responsible for Peacock’s streaming business and work with leadership across NBCU TV, film, news and sport on Peacock live and original programming. She will report to Matt Strauss, chairman of direct-to-consumer and international at NBCU.

“On the heels of Peacock’s success in its first year, we are thrilled to bring Kelly’s leadership and expertise to the team as we continue to accelerate Peacock’s vision and strategy,” said Strauss in a statement.

Campbell’s departure from Hulu, where she had been president for around 21 months, was made public on Monday when Disney’s chairman of international operations and direct-to-consumer, Rebecca Campbell, issued an internal memo to staff.

Kelly Campbell joined Hulu in 2017 as chief marketing officer before being appointed president in February 2020. Prior to that she spent 12 years working for Google in a range of senior positions, most recently as senior director of growth marketing for Google Cloud.
