NBCU streamer Peacock branches into adult animation with In the Know

NBCUniversal’s Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to In the Know, the first adult animated comedy commissioned for the streaming service.

Zach Woods

Co-created and executive produced by Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office) and Brandon Gardner, the series comes from Universal Television.

It follows a well-meaning but hypocritical TV news host (who is also a stop-motion puppet) as he conducts in-depth interviews with real-world human guests.

In the Know is also executive produced by Greg Daniels (The Office) and Dustin Davis for Bandera Entertainment. The voice cast will be led by Judge and Woods.

Peacock’s entry into the adult animation space comes after other streaming platforms including Netflix and Fox have found significant traction with shows like Big Mouth and Krapopolis, respectively.

“In the Know will capture the conversations so many of us have in our daily lives in a heightened, hilarious way,” said Lisa Katz, president scripted content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming.
