NBCU, Miley Cyrus party in the USA

NBCUniversal (NBCU) has agreed an overall talent and development deal with entertainer Miley Cyrus covering the US studio’s television and streaming platforms.

The agreement includes a first-look deal between NBCU’s television and streaming arm, Cyrus’s production company and her mother and manager Tish Cyrus’s production company, Hopetown Entertainment.

The multi-platinum-selling recording artist and songwriter will also provide three specials for the studio, including Stand By You, a Pride concert special, exclusively for streaming service Peacock.

NBCU’s television and streaming entertainment portfolio includes NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy, Universal Kids, USA Network and Peacock. Cyrus will have the opportunity to leverage her talents as producer, performer and host across network, cable, streaming and syndication programming, NBCU said.

The daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus rose to fame portraying the character Hannah Montana between 2006 and 2011 on the Disney Channel, before launching a successful pop music career and starring in an episode of Black Mirror on Netflix in 2019.
