NBCU expands TV Everywhere

NBCUniversal (NBCU) has expanded its TV Everywhere offering by allowing viewers to watch live shows from its local US stations on the go.

Viewers with a satellite, cable or telco subscription can access NBC’s local shows, primetime and syndicated series and some sports, although NFL content is not available.

Live programming and on-demand content can be accessed via mobile devices and PCs or via the station website, with NBC-owned stations including WNBC New York, KNBC Los Angeles and WMAQ Chicago.

Valari Staab, president of NBCU Owned Television Stations, said: “Our stations are committed to making it easy and convenient for viewers to watch our programming and this is one more step in that effort.”

The service will operate in a similar way to Watch ABC, which has required users to sign in with their cable details to view content since January last year.
