NBCU to hold Conversations With Parents

Conversations With My Parents is based on François Morency’s book

NBCUniversal Formats, a division of Universal Studio Group, has acquired the format rights to Radio-Canada comedy Conversations With My Parents in the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe.

Based on Quebec entertainer François Morency’s book of the same name, the format is a sketch comedy series featuring a comedian sharing colourful exchanges with the rest of their family.

Conversations With My Parents was first commissioned by Radio-Canada, the French-Canadian arm of pubcaster the CBC, with A Media producing. The original show’s fifth season is currently in development.

Enrique Guillen, exec VP of international strategy at Universal Studio Group, said: “With plenty of wit and a gentle touch, François Morency has distilled the conversations with his parents into a hilarious show with limitless comedic possibilities. We are excited to see how this clever format can serve other top comedians and audiences across the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe.”
