NBC takes crime drama Murder by the Book to pilot

NEWS BRIEF: US broadcast network NBC has commissioned a pilot episode of crime drama Murder by the Book.

The executive producers of the show, which will be made by LA-based prodco Minnesota Logging Company, are Good Girls creators Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs. The show is about a literary critic who becomes an unlikely detective and uncovers the shocking truth about an eccentric seaside town.
