NBC struts back into World of Dance

NBC in the US has greenlit a third season of entertainment reality show World of Dance starring and executive produced by pop star and actor Jennifer Lopez.

The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio in association with Nuyorican Productions and global dance brand World of Dance.

It sees dancers compete for the chance to win US$1m, led by a judging team from the world of music including Lopez, Derek Hough, Ne-Yo and Jenna Dewan. Acts are scored using a points system developed by World of Dance.

Season two begins on Tuesday May 29 and the third season order was announced by Paul Telegdy, president of NBC Entertainment’s alternative and reality group.

NBC has also renewed its Friday night crime drama Blindspot for a fourth season, produced by Warner Bros Television, Berlanti Productions and Quinn’s House.

In related news, NBC has ordered a procedural starring Cassie Bishop as a crime-solving psychic. The InBetween is produced by Universal Television, NBCU International Television Studio and Heyday Television. Moira Kirland wrote the series and will executive produce.
