NBC sets seventh Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was cancelled by Fox after five seasons

US broadcaster NBC has renewed police comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine for a seventh season following its successful move to the channel from Fox for its sixth run.

The series stars Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio and Andre Braugher, among others, as a team of officers working in the 99th precinct of the New York Police Department.

It was picked up by Comcast-owned NBC last year for a sixth run, on air now, after former home Fox decided to cancel the show after season five.

The show has performed well for NBC in the key 18-49 demographic, outperforming its ratings for its final season on Fox by 8%, according to ratings analyst Nielsen.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is produced by Universal Television, Fremulon, Dr Goor Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. Dan Goor, Michael Schur, Luke Del Tredici and David Miner are the exec producers.
